Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 11, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how AHL Radio ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use our Android application AHL Radio (com.ahlradio.app).
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Provide
We do not require account registration. We do not collect your name, email address, or any personally identifiable information directly.
1.2 Automatically Collected Information
When you use AHL Radio, we may automatically collect:
- Device information: Device model, operating system version, and unique device identifiers (used for ad serving and crash reporting).
- Usage data: Stations played, search queries entered, and in-app navigation patterns (collected in aggregate; used to improve the app).
- Crash and performance data: Collected via Sentry to diagnose and fix technical issues.
1.3 In-App Purchases
If you purchase Remove Ads (Lifetime), the transaction is processed entirely by the Google Play Billing service. We do not receive or store your payment card details. We receive only a confirmation that a purchase was completed for the product ID ahl_radio_remove_ads_lifetime.
1.4 Advertising
AHL Radio displays ads served by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect:
- Advertising identifiers (Android Advertising ID)
- Approximate location (country/region, derived from IP address)
- App usage signals for ad personalisation
You can opt out of personalised advertising at any time via your device settings: Settings → Google → Ads → Delete advertising ID (Android 12+) or Opt out of Ads Personalisation (earlier versions).
For more information, see Google's Privacy Policy.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information collected to:
- Stream radio content from public radio directories (radio-browser.info)
- Display relevant advertisements
- Diagnose crashes and improve app stability
- Fulfil and verify in-app purchases
- Remember your recently played stations and preferences (stored locally on your device)
3. Data Storage
- On-device only: Your recently played stations, saved favourites, audio EQ settings, and sleep timer preferences are stored locally on your device using AsyncStorage. This data is never transmitted to our servers.
- Third-party services: Crash reports are sent to Sentry. Ad data is processed by Google AdMob. Radio station metadata is fetched from radio-browser.info — a public, open-source radio directory.
4. Third-Party Services
AHL Radio integrates the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policy:
| Service | Purpose | Privacy Policy |
|---|---|---|
| Google AdMob | Advertising | policies.google.com |
| Google Play Billing | In-app purchases | payments.google.com |
| Sentry | Crash reporting | sentry.io/privacy |

6. Data Retention
We do not maintain a server-side user database. On-device data persists until you uninstall the app or clear app data. Crash reports retained by Sentry are subject to Sentry's own retention policies (90 days by default).
